Vision and Values Day
Yesterday, we celebrated our visions and values day. At St John’s we have three core values: love, friendship and forgiveness. Yesterday, we focused on forgiveness. Our day started with collective worship in Church where Captain Kev re-told the story of the unforgiving servant. The story helped us to reflect on the importance of forgiveness. We also learnt a new song about forgiveness called You Forgive Me.
We recently held a competition to design new values logos for our Values Garden mosaic. The winning designs are featured on our new mosaic. Yesterday, we all selected a piece of green tile that we felt represented ourselves to add to the tree as its leaves. We thought carefully about where to place our piece on the tree, thinking about our own journey of understanding the values and the branches that our own lives may take. A huge thank you to the extremely talented Mrs Evans for all the time and effort she has put into bringing this to life.
Next, we went over to Church where Kev helped us reflect on the story of the unforgiving servant. We considered different emotions throughout the story.
Finally, we each created our own forgiveness box. We know forgiveness is not always easy so these boxes can help us to remember to forgive even when it is hard.
